Bruce Springsteen- 2010?

A place to share the latest info on Maritime Concerts

At this point Kevin, I don't really care. Sure I'd love to see the guy. As long as there are a couple of decent shows next summer I'll be happy. If he's one of them, great, if not, so be it.

Just because he doesn't usually do shows "here and there" doesn't mean he won't. I believe this can happen next year.

Then you need to read up on the latest news including the man himself comments the other night in Tampa. This fall is the last leg of a 2 year tour.....the E Street band are taking a 3 year break. Bruce may come back next year to say Halifax on a solo tour but not to Magnetic Hill. That might happen in 3 years.

Nothing we don't already know but...

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band planning hiatus

By Phil Gallo / LiveDaily Contributor

Bruce Springsteen [ tickets ] and the E Street Band are expected to take one or two years off after performing 26 shows booked though Nov. 22 in Buffalo, NY.

"We are going to take a break," E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt said Wednesday during a conference call with reporters. "I don't know how long, one year, year-and-a-half, two years off. This is a good time to see us. We may not be as pretty, [but] we seem to be getting better in funny ways.
"You never know. This could be be the last tour. We do every show like it's our last show anyway."

Subtly, Van Zandt was pushing the idea that the current tour was a must-see for fans who have put off purchasing tickets. While Springsteen and the E Street Band have sold more than 2 million tickets this year, shows have not sold out as quickly as in the past. Currently, 17 shows--among them the five final concerts at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ--have tickets available. Two shows at Madison Square Garden go on sale Friday (9/18); concerts in Washington, DC, and Baltimore go on sale Sept. 25.

One of the highlights of the current tour has been a "stump the band" segment in which the band plays a cover. Fans submit requests by making signs that Springsteen collects and sorts through onstage.

So far, the band has not been stumped.

"We may mess the song up a bit," Van Zandt says. "We're kind of familiar with all these crazy songs. We may do something a bit unusual from time to time. Nothing too obscure, too schlocky. Honestly, I can say we have not had that train wreck yet. I'm knocking on wood."

Hopefully this will be the stake through this thread's heart. Time off, no tour. Next. Good thing we had Boston John.

Hmmm....uh, hell YEAH!! LOL. I wasn't taking any chances because you never know what the future holds. Some people on this board said they couldn't go because they couldn't afford it (or something along those lines) but the way I saw it...I couldn't afford not to.

Just talking to an old friend who works at a newspaper in Moncton. He said, according to the city, they WERE all set to finalize a Springsteen show for Sept. 5. Springsteen's people were supposed to call and didn't. City assumes there was some sort of conflict with dates but the confirmation call from The Boss's reps never came.

Probably read this thread and decided he would ease our pain as there would've been been twenty more pages of what the set-list should or would be.

Wow! Wish the summer concerts didn't drain my concert cash. Bruce will be playing full albums on each night of the Giant Stadium shows. Since I'm going to be in Boston around that time I could swing the Oct. 3 show when he will be playing Born in the USA in it's entirety but financially...
