The question is, will they be able to bring both Slayer & Megadeth when they return? Bands schedules don't always coincide with one another.

on hopes that i am wrong like i have been in the past, i will say this...
This show is not going to happen, not in January and not anytime soon, the guy is going in for back surgery and he wont be fit by the beginning of the new year.
Megadeth should come and do a show anyway for its own tour not part of CC.

Well if Dave says so, then he must know. Glad to hear they are not cancelling. I was waiting for a comment from Megadeth.

Hopefully, it will still be Slayer, Megadeth AND Machine Head (was looking forward to seeing those guys). Maybe they could add Mastodon to the bill??

Also, depending on what he's having done to his back, Tom Araya should be out of commission for a good 4-6 months if not longer.

"As a result of his onstage activity" ...I wonder if that mean 2 decades of headbanging?

Absolutely freakin' incredible \m/(^^)\m/. It was my last "big" show of the year and a great way to end on. Since we weren't able to get tickets when they went on sale we did a Metallica bus tour through McGinn Travel. It was great not to have to do all the driving for once (you hear that zzzzz??). As for the show, the new songs are killer live and really heavy. The one song that I really wanted them to play was Sanitarium and they played it. The concert gods must be looking over me. Lol. We were in the lower bowl in Sect. 19 which is one of the corner sections. With Metallica's in-the-round set-up it didn't matter too much where you sat because all of the bands were continually moving around to different sides of the stage. I kind of wish that I would have had floor tickets because the stage was so big that there wasn't more than 15-20 ft of space between the stage and the lower bowl so it looked like you could get a pretty good view wherever you stood on the floor not to mention they threw a crapload of picks and drumsticks into the crowd (unfortunately our section was a tad too far to reach any of that stuff). I gotta say that the QC crowd for this show was one of the loudest I have ever witnessed for a show at the band were just eating it up. One huge bonus from was that Lars said that the show was being filmed for their next DVD. If I had any real complaints, the sound wasn't great in parts and reminded me of seeing shows in the good ole Coliseum only in a much bigger capacity.

Seeing as this was the second time I got to see Lamb of God, I have to say that I much preferred their show at the Coliseum. Surprisingly the sound was much better at the much smaller Coliseum show. Volbeat were one of the other openers and are from Denmark. They weren't bad but I'll have to check out some of their stuff online to get a better feel for what they sound like. Of course once Metallica hit the stage the sound dramatically improved but was still muddy in parts.

Anyway, here's the setlist (can't wait for the DVD release!!):

That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
The Four Horsemen
The Shortest Straw
One
Broken, Beat And Scarred
My Apocalypse
Sad But True
Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
The Judas Kiss
The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Battery
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
Encore:
Killing Time (Sweet Savage cover)
Whiplash
Seek & Destroy

P. Jam 09/22/05 Hfx

Good to see they mix up their set unlike other bands. That would be a great show to see, guess Moncton is out of the question though.

Hi, this is my 1st post here.

Sorry for being a little upset :x but isn't anyone else a little pissed that they're not even OFFERING anyone refunds? 150 bucks is a lot of $$ for me and i don't appreciate GEG hanging on to it! I feel like they're taking advantage of people here. I can't see this happening for a Celine Dion concert or something.
Why are they advising us to HOLD ON to our tickets?? What other option do we have??

Are they scared a few thousand metal heads, most of us poor no doubt, were gonna start ripping our tickets up or start burning them in a big pile at the town square??

What's up??
:?

I would imagine once they release the new dates you'll have the option to refund the tickets.

Are they gonna release the new dates this year? As long as they don't release any dates i guess it's OK for them to keep our money.?.

I don't think anyone but the promoters know anything yet. You're just going to have to be patient along with the rest of us. I still don't know what I'm planning to do with my tickets yet. I would kind of like to get my money refunded and then rebuy the tickets later when there aren't so many expenses (i.e. Xmas, winter car maintenance, etc...)

Not sure if this line-up will be part of the rescheduled dates but Slayer, Megadeth, Testament and High on Fire are supposed to be teaming up for a US tour according to unconfirmed reports:
