If they do play Moncton anytime soon, we should find her and bow!

I still think it's a possibility that they could be playing the Maritimes next summer. They expressed interesse of playing The Quebec Summer Festival next year at Les Plaines d'Abraham. They could do the same thing as KISS did last year.

It would be great but the city would never support a concert like that....

Decent chance of getting the stage in that building at least. As for outside, either one would work with Halifax having the advantage for the quickest exit.

A co-worker told me about this... And I'm the girl in the video.... Lars actually said the following to me:

"You're from Moncton? Didn't AC/DC play there this summer?" And then the conversation followed...

It certainly piqued his interest and Metallica members Lars, James and Kirk all remember playing Moncton before. I mentionned to all members how much Moncton wants to see them again. Out of 18 fans in the room, me and my cousin were the only two who were not from Quebec...

Don't lose hope guys, maybe this might help because Metallica is rumoured to be playing Plaines D'Abraham next summer... an outdoor venue...

Actually, all it took was a text to win contest... I won a contest with Telus Mobility that included the Meet and Greet and 2 concert tickets

Hey, welcome to the forum!! That was awesome that you mentioned the area during your Meet and Greet. I was wondering when I saw the video if someone had mentioned the AC/DC show to any of the guys but it sounds like Lars already knew about it which says something about the effect of our big outdoor shows. I think it goes without saying that a Metallica show would go over well in this region. Metallica is a much more accessible metal band (whether good or bad) than most other heavier metal bands. They attract a wide diversity of fans. On our bus trip to the show there didn't seem to be one stereotypical full-on metalhead. There was a diverse cross section of fans.

Yeah for sure. Metallica has been able to bridge the gap from metal to rock fans better than anyone recently really.

The age range at the Quebec City show was very young to people in their 40s-50s.

Basically the conversation was modified in the video but when Lars asked where we were from (our English was a lot better than the others in the room lol) we said we were from Moncton and he started asking questions. Then he signed my stuff, posed for a picture, then asked more questions.

I really think this is our time to shine and really start pushing for Metallica next summer on the Hill, especially if they plan on doing the Quebec music festival.

I really didn't expect this video to end up on youtube, nor to for it to spark conversations among Monctonians. I was really surprised by this.

Suddenly, because of nmjg77, I have great hopes in 2010. You have also made me come out of retirement from posting on this board. If Lars knows about AC/DC playing here last year, then someone in Metallica is definitely scouting the area.

nmjg77, you are the official Moncton Metallica Diplomat Queen in my books!

lol! nahhh... I'm just a lucky fan who happened to strike a bit of interest in Moncton from the boys of Metallica...

All of them (except Robert) remembered playing here years and years ago...

I think this would be an opportunity for maybe Monctonians to start a REAL petition or campaign to get Metallica here... Nevermind facebook groups or online petitions, those things never work...

Maybe someone from C103 can help us out in this project? Tim? Mandy? Taiter? Anyone?

I checked with my contact and Metallica has not been mentioned in any breath to do an outdoor show in the maritimes. Last year, they were looking at the possibilities of an indoor, but we all know how that went overall.

That said, maybe some positive chatter about people willing to see them outdoors will spur something on. He has confirmed that there are reps that check out this board (and others)
