I knew he is a concert promoter.. I just lost track of what he was planning this summer..
And Good about Upton Farms.. I bet whoever is playing there will be a good venue.
And. Thanks Ryan Smile
And.. How come they still dont go with Old Home Week?
Ive seen concerts during old home week before in Ctown.

He is the guy that put on both the Black Eyed Peas & Aerosmith concerts the last two summers (Blast at the Beach). He was wanting to hold another concert here on PEI this summer, in either Charlottetown or Summerside. According to him, the band that he wanted to bring (and who's been trying to get for 18 years) is only available on one date this summer, and it's the same weekend as Old Home week, which is around the first weeekend in August i believe. So apparently he's given up on PEI.

The potential concert at Uptown Farms isn't David Carver related, so hopefully it still happens. It's supposed to be Labour Day weekend.

Interesting... his band is 'supposedly' only available the first weekend in August and he's now looking outside PEI. Well NB has the Eagles that weekend, so they're out of the picture, too. That leaves NS and maybe NF? Not saying that it's gonna happen at all, but if it does (and I'm doubting it will) it should be interesting if it does come to NS how pissed off the Eagles fans will be... that would suck!

Come on come oooooon

I know the chances are so slim, but having Tom Petty with The Eagles and John Fogerty would be unreal. Is there any posibility he might play the mag hill music festival?

That lineup would be unbelievable, almost too good to be true.

Upton Farm is a huge piece of land the federal government owns on the outskirt of Charlottetown. The plan is to put a big concert on part of that property. It measures about 37 acres and looks like one heck of a natural amphitheatre.
There is no Blast at the Beach on PEI this summer. That's what Carver was calling his shows.
Carver is looking to Halifax to stage his big concert.
The Festival of Lights will announce its lineup soon. They usually do so in May.
Old Home Week is the provincial exhibition. Livestock, midway, harness racing, etc. It draws in excess of 50,000 people over the course of the week.
All is quiet so far on what the plans are for the Upton Farm site but there's a reason for that. The promoter working with Charlottetown sees no need to go to the media with every problem.

It sounds to me like PEI is pretty much as messed up with concerts as Halifax. Nobody seems to know anything other then a bunch of rumors. I never went to Aerosmith but from what I read, it was a pretty poor set up. Hopefully this summer they can get it right with a good spot & a great band.

Yeah is Moncton the only gig that actually really has their act in gear?
You dont hear anything much really about how Moncton has "concerns" or "problems"..

Sounds like it to me. The only concern I had with Moncton for awhile was that they seemed to be only interested in Country acts. Now they seem to be bringing in something for everyone.

I'm not sure why everyone is so uptight about the Festival of Lights thing. The FOL is a Canada Day weekend festival full of events. It's not just a "Concert". It's a family event full of activities. According to their web site, the bands will be announced in May. Rolling Eyes

I think people are just curious as to who will be playing there, that is all. The rumors get crazy after awhile.
