Well this is the biggest bunch of BS i've ever read. There wont be any cars allowed to park at the site:
Buses can park at Eagles show
Published Thursday June 26th, 2008
There won't be parking for individual cars at the Magnetic Hill Music Festival Aug. 2, but there will be parking space available for buses, city officials said yesterday.
Buses will be required to pay a flat rate of $100 to park within the Magnetic Hill Concert Site. This parking will give passengers direct access to the main concert gate.
"We understand there has been some confusion surrounding the issue of bus parking," explained Jillian Somers, co-ordinator of tourism and events marketing for the City of Moncton. "As in past years, a designated bus parking lot will be available, and operators must pre-pay $100 to have access to the space."
Moncton has announced its effort to promote "greener" practices surrounding the Magnetic Hill Music Festival. In addition to the public transit option, bus parking will encourage group travel, therefore lightening the amount of individual car travellers. As well, bicycle lock-ups will be available on site for those who wish to bike to and from the concert.
"Our hope is to provide as many environmentally-friendly options for getting to and from the Magnetic Hill Music Festival," added Somers.
"Whether you come from out of town on a group bus, take advantage of public transportation, or decide to ride your bike to the hill, we're making every effort to accommodate as many options as possible."
Bus operators who wish to purchase a parking pass for the event should contact Recreation, Parks, Tourism and Culture at 506-853-3516. Parking tickets for group buses must be purchased no later than July 18.
Additional information on transportation options and other important concert information will be posted on www.magnetichillmusicfestival.ca.
So far, more than 40,000 tickets have been sold for the Aug. 2 concert featuring the Eagles, John Fogerty, K.T. Tunstall and the Sam Roberts Band. Of the more than 7,000 VIP tickets available, there are only about 219 left, of which only 19 are singles.
Tickets are $124.50 for general admission and $249 for VIP. Corporate tables are available for a table of eight. Tickets are available through the Coliseum box office, Sobeys stores and online at tickets.moncton.ca., or by calling 1-888-720-5600.

It's not significantly different than what they did at the Stones show. Individual cars weren't allowed to park directly on site for that show either if I remember correctly. It's hard to say whether they will have designated parking spaces available at different spots away from the site. I'm sure local residents will offer their yards and driveways for outrageous fees.
Cheer up Wishblade, don't be such a polluter.

Nah, cars were definately allowed to park right next to the concert site for that show. I remember it very clearly.

| I went back and reread the article and realized there won't be any designated parking spaces available for individual cars...at least according to the article. I thought they would still have parking available offsite which is what I was referring to in relation to the Stones show. Whenever parking has been allowed onsite the area always ended up becoming a muddy bog.

Everybody was allowed to park near the site. I know this because I and many others who parked there were GA ticket holders.
This just sucks as Im coming in from Halifax, and was planning to bring my car and park it there. Now I have to find a charter and pay out my ass to take it there and back. Its either that or walk several km to the site, or see how reliable the city bus service is in taking people there (if at all), and for some reason I dont really have much faith in that.

| From what I remember hearing about the city buses, they actually are more efficient for these events then they are on a regular day. You best bet may be to park at the Trinity Power Centre or the Northwest Centre. You will be probably get in and get out faster after the show by taking a bus back to your vehicle than sitting in your vehicle waiting to get out of a parking lot near the site.
