I heard this rumour mentionned two or three times on C103 yesterday. They even mentionned possible announcements this week.
Where is this coming from? I haven't seen anything on the internet or in the papers!

I heard this rumor flying around for the past couple of months. I also heard 2 weeks ago from a unreliable source that the Eagles contract papers were pretty much ready for signatures.
This may be our big hill concert gig for 2008. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but what the hell, I'll go just to say I was there.

I had heard rumours in the fall, but it was on the Island with David Carver as the promoter, and possibly moving the show to Summerside.
Ususally, we hear some rumblings on this forum or in the papers if anything comes up.
When the Stones were announced, everyone had a good idea weeks before the official announcement.
This should attract as much or more than the Country shows!

| I would much rather see KISS, Metallica, ACDC or Iron Maiden play the hill. I am sure the Eagles will do well but that is one concert I wouldnt go to.

Spoke with some folks in the "know" regarding a concert for the Festival of Lights show on the Island and they're looking at presuing a concert featuring KISS!!

| I certainly hope that the FOL people have deep pockets because are quite pricey. That being said I would definitely go to see them in PEI at the FOL. Not so sure that I would want to see them there if David Carver was promoting it.

| I'd definitely go to PEI to see KISS, and I'm sure they would draw a crowd! Would there be someone other than Carver promoting concerts on the Island? And does Summerside have a better venue than the Park at Charlottetown?

| As far as I know David Carver is not involved in organizing the FOL concerts.

No, David Carver doesn't have anything to do with the Festival of Lights. I haven't heard this one yet, and honestly i have trouble believing Kiss would play the FOL. I dunno, we'll have to wait & see i guess.
The location they are looking at in Summerside is Slemon Park. I've only been there in the past to play hockey, but i have no idea how it would pan out as a concert venue.

| Actually, now that I think of it, I don't think the concert site for the FOL would be big enough to stage a KISS show. I think there is only room for 10-12K.

The way they have it set up, yeah it only holds i'd say a little over 10,000. I'm sure it could be rearranged to hold quite a few more than that, but still not the numbers a Kiss show would draw. Let's face it, Kiss won't be playing Confederation Landing in Charlottetown. Perhaps somewhere else on the Island, who knows.
And although there were obviously some odd choices as far as the opening acts for Aerosmith went (Cierra comes to mind!)...at the end of the day, i was more than satisfied with the openers. 54-40 & Cheap Trick opening for Aerosmith...nothing wrong with that!
