I don't know if I am the only one who notices this or not but maritime shows always seem to be announced last minute... I think this is either because we are added on last minute or because our local promotors have a business model of announcing things last minute because they think this is the only way to sell tickets. Either way it is kind of annoying to have to plan to go to concerts last minute. |
I agree with you 100%, they wait way to long to announce maritime dates. We should have our dates given out at the same time as everybody else. Our local promoters definately need a reality check. |
On another note, if they do know ahead of time and simply decide to wait until last minute to make the announcement of maritime shows, I wonder how many ticket sales they miss out on by us maritimers getting frustrated and buying tickets for shows in other cities. I know I have personally bought tickets to shows in other cities only to have them end up announcing local shows last minute. |
that just means you get to see the twice nothing worng with that |
There is nothing wrong with seeing a band twice but it is quite alot of money to throw away for travelling expenses. Road trips are a blast but it must be awful disappointing to travel somewhere only to find out the concert is cancelled. |

| Probably a long shot, but what do Rush have as far as the post-Canadian dates go? Anything in early August?

| im not sure about august...but there is a ten day gap in tour dates in June..which puts the band close to maritime cities...i also wouldn't be suprised if like was said here already...that that gap would included maritime cities about a month or two before the actual date...its anyones guess i suppose

Updates and other random Rush stuff

It's 1 week into the tour and Rush has 4 shows, 1 US territory, 1 state, and 2 rescheduled shows under its belt already. Whether it's due to the high ticket prices coupled with the poor economy, the lack of changes in the setlist from the first leg, or something else, attendance thus far has been mediocre as have ticket sales for the tour in general. That said, Rush is still putting on great shows and the fan reviews are overwhelmingly positive, despite a bit of grumbling about the setlist. There are also a few bright spots regarding ticket sales; the shows in Red Rocks, Montreal and the first Los Angeles show have sold out.
Late last year when the tour itinerary was being worked out, Rush had planned to play at least one date in Atlantic Canada - and had even planned on opening the tour there. But due to last-minute scheduling conflicts with the originally-planned South American dates (these are now dead in the water), they were forced to reshuffle their entire itinerary and Atlantic Canada got left on the cutting room floor. However, a recent interview with Geddy Lee in the National Post gives reason to think there is still hope for Halifax; Geddy confirmed that the band was still working hard to add a date there.

I guess anything is possible...but on June 28th and June 30th they seem to be playing in the usa midwest,St.Louis on the 28th ,Cincinnati on the 30th..then Pittsburgh on July 2nd..I'm still thinking they would add more then one date somewhere between june 15th and june 25th..makes more sense because its the closest to any maritime cities in their tour...but never say never

| This could be the Halifax date they were wanting to get or they couldn't get into Halifax and are playing PEI to cover off the region. Either way, it's pretty sweet I'll possibly be seeing Rush this summer.

| Looking at those dates dale, there your're right there really isn't much room to fit a FOL date in there. They are June 28th, June 29th, and June 30th...and the free concert (never any big acts) is July 1st.

Rush is playing June 27, 28 and 30th in the US so there's no time to transfer gear up to PEI to get back to their scheduled show in Burgettstown, PA on the 2nd.
They have a gap of ten days in June between Boston & Indiana. This could be the most likely spot for the Halifax show.
Here's hoping!!

I can't see them announcing a concert they expect to sell out on, 1 month before the event..
Rush is a HUGE band and all, but people have already spent a lot on tickets in the past few weeks. I just can't see it. I'd say it's a bad decision if it's going to happen. I know I won't be going, If it's June. August is more likely IMO.
