Who thinks it would be awesome if c103 played Vinyls again?

I found this video saying that they are making a comeback and that a radio station in california is playing records again.http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=7011708
I think it would be really awesome if c103 started playing them again, mainly because i just got a record player and I think it sounds so much better than cds.

Vinyl was replaced by CD's because CD'S have superior music quality...I was one of those that grew up on vinyl and cassette tapes ..even 8 tracks lol..I have hundreds of old records that I just hung on to..vut vinyl scratches just as easily and you can't burn music onto it...maybe this is the music industry attempt to get people to start buying again by bringing up nostalga
Personally...I don't miss vinyl records...but I use to like going to A@A or Sam's and seeing the top 40 singles in 45rpm displayed in front of you on a wall..(with interesting record sleeves) so you could pick and choose the song you wanted instead of buying the more expensive album
Canada used to have its own Billboard type top 100 magazine called...RPM Magazine..I used to love picking it up every week until it fell apart in the recession in the early 80's.. http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/rpm/index-e.html

**edit...apparently RPM tried to revive itself in the late 90's and stopped in 2000

There was also a problem with vinyl because of a shortage of raw materials to make records. As nice as albums sound, I don't miss the snap, crackle and pop or skipping or replacing the needles.

You mention Sams and A and A records. I used to go to both stores when I was on Yonge St. Now, due to downloading, both are history.

Yes I remember those stores on Yonge St as well...I used to love their store front lights...and that Sam's had hard to get music inside..anytime I visited Toronto I made a point to go to Eaton Centre and those 2 stores across the street near it..Hard Rock Cafe was another must lol..

and I couldn't agree more with what you say about snap crackle pop..its so much better now listening to all these tracks that are availble over the internet from the 70's and 80's that we had to suffer through with static..after heavy use :D
