my girlfriend and I were going to go to the eagles until the McCartney rumours started becoming serious. I'm holding off to see what happens with that, as outdoor concerts always have more tickets added if they sell out.

The number of concerts this summer is turning out to be awesome. Im planning on going to see blue man group as well. But it'd cost a fortune to see them all! It's painful to pick & choose!

If it wasn't for John Fogerty, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't have bothered with the Eagles now that the Paul McCartney rumors are heating up. However I've been waiting to see Fogerty live for ever, so i couldn't pass it up. Paul McCartney will be amazing though, no way i can miss that one!

Looks like i'm going to Moncton in June (Thorogood), August (Eagles) and October (Alice), and hopefully Halifax in July (McCartney). I would of loved to see Bob Dylan too, i wish it would of been a winter show instead. I'm still waiting for the Festival of Lights announcement & to here if they are going ahead with an Uptown Farms concert, but i dunno, my summer concerts are pretty well booked up.

Over 30 000 sold already according to the newspaper. They had a picture of someone who purchased 12 VIP tickets for her family members. $$$$

Yes we were there and the first guy who works for Rogers purchased 12 VIP tickets! I think they must've sold 3000 or more VIP tickets yesterday.

The Sobey's on Vaughn Harvey, the new one, is SOLD OUT of tickets in just one day!!! Each store only has 500 tickets to sell.

if I remember correctly it was over 65 000. And when they went on sale in Halifax it was over 35 00 on the first day. I think there will be around 50k total for this show ...

Not bad for first day of sales. I wonder how much the McCartney rumours are affecting ticket sales for this?

Does anyone know if Kenny Arnoff will be drumming for John Fogerty in Moncton?? I know he toured with Fogerty during his recent dates in Australia. Arnoff is one of my all-time favorite drummers.

He's probably best known for his work with both John Fogerty & John Mellencamp, but the man has played with everybody. He's recorded with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Cindrella, etc etc., he's toured with both Mellencamp & Fogerty, he's even toured with the Smashing Pumpkins.

Wow! That may tempt me to actually buy a ticket. I first seen this guy in the MTV Unplugged John Mellencamp and wondered, who is this guy!!!

Now that McCartney isnt coming, I can pretty much guarentee that this will be the 2nd largest concert even the maritimes has ever seen, behind you know what Razz.

So, judging from first day sales, and considering that that was after the McCartney rumour came about, I would say ticket sales will end up somewhere between 60 and 70,000.

so what factors do you think are going to cause the Eagles to rake in less than the Stones?

The fact that the rolling stones was the first mega concert to really ever come here, so the novelty of it was larger. Plus, I think the rolling stones are just a slightly larger draw, IMO anyway. Not to mention that the initial sales for the rolling stones was much higher than the eagles even.

And the number of concerts coming to arenas in the maritimes this summer is enormous, so Im thinking some people might not have it in their concert budgets to be able to attend the eagles, especially at $142 a ticket.

Theres a few other factors as well, but those are the main ones for why I cant see this hitting 85,000+. If McCartney was still coming to the commons, my prediction would have been lower.
